I thought the darker days meant less eggs? I'm getting more.

Eggs What are they! Haven't seen one other than in an egg box for ages roll on the lighter nights and warmer weather.

K9,what breeds do you have that are laying?

even my youngsters arent laying yet,they must be 7-8mths now and really should be laying!

Not sure as i dont keep a check,i do get 2/3 white eggs a day and they are from whitestars.I'll be getting more of those next year,really good layers.I think the sussex hybrids are laying a few  and an odd one or two from the welsummers.

My little buff sussex bantie is laying a few too,not had her very long,she is part of a group i rescued.

My pure breeds stopped laying about 4 weeks ago but I am still getting eggs from the hybrids.   I AM NOT BUYING EGGS - I have frozen quite a lot.

Me thinks all the pure breeds i like should be for decoration only,,,,theyre rubbish at egg laying .Mind you i wouldve thought my youngsters wouldve started laying by now......something to look forward to.....one day!!
