SHETLAND COCKERELS/French Copper Blue Maran - april - 26-12-2017

I have a few spare Shetland Cockerels available to the best homes.  Various lovely colours and all with the correct, preferred head tappit (plume of feathers).  Hatched late Summer so still very, very immature - Shetlands are very slow growers.  However, beautiful colours and markings starting to show through.  Shetlands carry the dominant GREEN egg gene and so almost all hen chicks they sire will go on to lay blue or green eggs.  When used over dark brown egg layers resulting hens should lay olive green eggs.  Shetlands are usually docile and good natured boys, hardy and long-lived. If anyone is interested, pm me for photos.  I have a road trip planned in January from Kent to Aberdeen and whilst I cannot detour, I might be able to meet at Motorway service stations on route.

I also have ONE French Copper BLUE Maran Cockerel (also hatched late Summer).  Stunning looking boy - just needs some nice ladies of his own.  He has been well handled.

Ooooo how tempting! However, I have an 8 year old Welsummer boy - 'the Boss' - so I think his nose would be put out of joint if I introduced another boy. He still seems to be going strong and looks after his ladies here....

If your tempted towards a Shetland Scotsfran - I would say, these are still very babyish and not at all pushy and generally live with another boy or two quite happily - I know K9 has had one of my Shetlands living other boys - don't think she's ever had any problems.
